Magix Movie Edit Pro 2014 Plus supports the import of AVI, DV-AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MTS, M2TS, MXV, MJPEG, QuickTime, WMV(HD), VOB, MKV and AVCHD file types. Magix has put their programming resources into speeding up import and export by accomplishing the process with your video card memory. This frees up system resources, reducing the possibility of your system freezing or Magix Movie Edit Pro 2014 Plus crashing. While this is a great feature, you may not notice an increase in speed if you do not have a strong enough video card.

Magix Movie Edit Pro 2014 Plus supports the following export options: AVI, DV-AVI, MJPEG, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, QuickTime and WMV(HD). You also can burn your video to DVD or Blu-ray Disc. Magix Movie Edit Pro 2014 Plus includes many professional-grade menu templates to choose from, and you can customize any of them to make your movie unique.

Magix programs are designed with the user in mind. As we tested Magix Movie Edit Pro 2014, we noticed that tools, timeline  and file systems are intuitive and easy to find. You are able to view and edit your video files directly in the Media Pool without having to put the video in the Timeline. You can preview music and sounds without opening a separate window, and importing various file types is easy as well. Switching between Timeline and Story Board modes is instant, and we experienced no lag. We are also impressed with Magix Movie Edit Pro 2014 Plus' ability to simultaneously edit files of different types without having to convert them first.

We found that if we weren't careful when clicking on files in the Media Pool, the program would sometimes insert files into the Timeline without our noticing. The program includes many templates and effects, but most of these are not present in the initial installation. You'll have to download these assets from the website. The files are not small, and it took us a while to download all of them. This may present an inconvenience if you have a slower internet connection or download size limits.
